Nostalgia can be addictive and kinda sad. When you grow up with the vague threat of your civilization failing, you learn to enjoy the cheap things.
You lunge for junky stuff; for freaky stuff. The Rocky Horror Picture Show stuff. So sorry friends, I’ve never seen that classic in any of its forms.
Don’t worry about me missing my mandated dosage of Tim “The Cool Man” Curry though. My T.C. passion lies with Annie and Legend. Legend is the story of lost innocence and…the last unicorn. It’s horrible but comfy, and really fucking weird. Tim Curry is literally the devil who has frozen time. Scientology’s superstar, Mr. Top Gun himself, is the hero in this T.C. vs. T.C. feature. Lots of terrifying goblins. It freaked me out as a kid, so I’d watch it in Spanish to make it less scary. I still watched it all the time. It’s not a good movie, but it’s good. Period.
Annie creeped me out too. Regardless, I feel nice whenever it’s on. It’s just like gazing into the dead eyes of a Furby. It’s so strange, but it hits the spot (void).
Check out that Furby organ though: https://www.lookmumnocomputer.com/furby-organ
Since it’s been a rough news year, I think we’ve all earned a watch of something strange yet sentimental—for old times’ or first times’ sake.
